Call for Authors of Applications: Sourcebook of Family Theories and Methodologies
Proposals are being accepted through Feb. 15, 2019 (extended from Jan. 15), from potential lead authors interested in contributing application pieces to accompany each chapter of a new Sourcebook of Family Theories and Methodologies publication.
Every 10 to 15 years, beginning several decades ago, family scholars have developed a Sourcebook publication that takes stock of emerging theory and methods and summarizes and advances the state of science in the discipline. It is one of the foundational resources on theory and methods in the discipline of Family Science. The most recent version of the book was published in 2005.
An editorial team of NCFR members Kari Adamsons, Ph.D., April Few-Demo, Ph.D., Christine Proulx, Ph.D, and Kevin Roy, Ph.D., is currently working on the new Sourcebook volume, which will provide both a historical perspective and also a view to recent developments and future directions in theories and methods in the discipline of Family Science.
Previously, proposals were solicited from potential lead authors interested in contributing chapters to the new Sourcebook. Similar to previous sourcebooks, an application piece is planned to accompany each chapter, and proposals are now being accepted from potential lead authors interested in contributing applications for the new Sourcebook.
Applications should be “in conversation with” their corresponding chapters, and should be 6-8 pages. Applications should highlight a particular cutting-edge application or extension of the theory or methodology to provide a window into what the theories or methodologies look like “on the ground.”
Interested lead authors should submit a proposal by Feb. 15, 2019, via email to [email protected]. Proposals should contain the following:
- A brief CV or biosketch highlighting your qualifications to author the proposed application;
- A one-page statement explaining your vision for the application, to which chapter you would like it to be “attached,” and why you are the best person to author it;
- At least one writing sample showcasing your work with the application that you are proposing to author;
- You may propose one coauthor whom you think would make a good contribution to the application.
