NCFR member Marcie Parker, Ph.D., CFLE, is editing a special issue of the peer-reviewed journal Issues in Mental Health Nursing to be published in December 2020.

Dr. Parker and her colleagues seek research-focused, practice-oriented, and theoretical/conceptual papers as well as literature reviews and case studies on the topic of gambling disorder and its impact on individuals, families, communities, and workplaces. Examples of article topics include, but are not limited to: the role of nurses in gambling disorder screening, assessment, referral, and treatment; health-related risks of gambling; comorbidities; special populations; treatment approaches and research on its effectiveness; and personal and/or family stories of problem gambling.
