Jennifer L. Doty Elected to NCFR Board of Directors

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA The National Council on Family Relations’ (NCFR) membership has elected Jennifer L. Doty, Ph.D., CFLE, as a new Students and New Professionals (SNP) representative-elect of the NCFR Board of Directors. Dr. Doty is an assistant professor in the Department of Youth, Family, and Community Sciences at the University of Florida.

Dr. Doty has been an NCFR member for 11 years and has previously served as the SNP representative of the Education and Enrichment Section. She has also been active serving as a conference proposal reviewer for several NCFR sections and was the 2014 recipient of the Ruth Hathaway Jewson Award.

“As SNP board representative, [I] will support both formal and informal mentoring opportunities … contributing experience from [my] training in health equity leadership and mentoring,” Dr. Doty wrote in her candidate statement. “[I] will coordinate with the board [and members] to build SNP critical skills in areas such as basic and applied science, health disparities, administrative leadership, grant writing, and translational Family Science to prepare the next generation to promote family well-being.”

Dr. Doty and the other newly elected board members will assume their roles at the 2019 NCFR Annual Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, planned for Nov. 20-23.

The National Council on Family Relations is the premier professional association for the multidisciplinary understanding of families.
