May 15 is recognized annually as the International Day of Families. Each year, the United Nations observes this day with a special program at its headquarters in New York. The 2019 theme is “Families and Climate Action” with a focus on U.N. sustainable development goal 13, to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

This year's observance on Thursday, May 16, is open to the public and live streamed from 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. ET on the U.N.'s website (watch recording below).

NCFR member Matthew Kaplan, Ph.D., will be one of the featured presenters in a panel discussion.
