Mallory J. Lucier-Greer, Ph.D., CFLE, LMFT, was honored with the Faculty Excellence Award from the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Auburn University. The award is given each year to someone who demonstrates excellence in one of the three land grant emphases.  Dr. Lucier-Greer was recognized this year for her service and teaching.

A paper published in Journal of Child and Family Studies and authored by NCFR members has been selected as a finalist for the 2019 Excellence in Research on Military and Veteran Families award. The article "Vulnerability and Resilience within Military Families: Deployment Experiences, Reintegration, and Family Functioning" was written by Catherine Walker O’Neal, Ph.D.; Mallory J. A study in Journal of Adolescent Health by Jerica M. Berge, Ph.D., M.P.H., LMFT, CFLE, suggests that pressuring teens to diet or exercise may harm their long-term health making them more likely to be obese later in life. Dr. Berge found this phenomenon can even stretch across generations. “This new study was conducted over many years, and we can see that these messages stay with someone longitudinally — someone who had (experienced) it now does that to their kid, passing it on, giving it to the next generation,” she said.
