Robert Reyes Elected to NCFR Board of Directors

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA The National Council on Family Relations’ (NCFR) membership has elected Robert Reyes, Ph.D., CFLE, as a new member-at-large on the NCFR Board of Directors. Dr. Reyes is a professor of human development and Family Science at Messiah College.

Dr. Reyes has been an NCFR member for 26 years and served on the board previously as a member-at-large (2004-2007). He was a member of the Inclusion and Diversity Committee, co-chair of the Ethnic Minorities Section, and co-chair of the Latino(a) Research Focus Group. Dr. Reyes also served as an editorial board member of the Journal of Family Theory & Review, and as a board member of the Mid-Atlantic Council on Family Relations.

In his candidate statement, Dr. Reyes noted “NCFR's commitment to serve as a ‘big tent’ where individuals from different political, religious, disciplinary, and cultural backgrounds can come together to work and enhance the wellbeing of children and families.” In his new service to the board, Dr. Reyes pledged to “ensure these efforts of inclusion and civil discourse continue and serve as a model for others.”

Dr. Reyes and the other newly elected board members will assume their roles at the 2019 NCFR Annual Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, planned for Nov. 20-23.
