Zippy's Video of the Week: On Giving a Baby Away

In this extraordinary TED Talk, Liv Gjestvang shares her experiences of being a surrogate mother of a baby for two men, and the complex grieving process in letting go of her baby. While pursuing shared-custody arrangements between herself and the two fathers-to-be, she discovered that such an agreement is not typically what family law does.

"I realized we don't really have models for family structures that fall outside of what we know," Gjestvang reflects, "and while risk in a legal context was considered something to protect ourselves against, I had started feeling like it was the risk that was moving us toward something so powerful."
