Full-Time Lecturer - Child Development and Family Science
This position in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is expected to teach existing introductory and advanced Child Development and Family Science courses. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in research methods, statistics, intimate relationships, diverse families, child development, and other areas, and to contribute to the department/program. Faculty will integrate CWU's commitment to diversity and create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible and inclusive for all students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Child Development and Family Science or related discipline
Possess superior teaching abilities in a variety of modalities
Willingness and ability to teach a wide range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate level
Teaching, research, service or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's commitment to the engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Child Development and Family Science or related discipline
University-level teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels
Experience teaching research methods or strong quantitative research capabilities
Experience conducting and presenting discipline-related research
Ability to incorporate multicultural perspectives and issues into curriculum and classroom conversations.
Experience working in a diverse environment and/or utilizing a variety of teaching methods designed for broad student success
A record of promoting inclusivity in classrooms and academic work environments
