The Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS), through a partnership with the Department of Defense (DoD) and the US Department of Agriculture – National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA/NIFA), is seeking candidates for the position of Research Fellow to support the work of Military REACH. Military REACH provides high-quality resources to the DoD in the form of research reports and professional development tools across the spectrum of family support, resilience, and readiness. In collaboration with the larger research team, this individual will assist in the summarizing and synthesizing of family science research for target audiences, including policymakers, helping professionals, and military families.

Strong candidates will demonstrate (1) leadership skills to manage a diverse, collaborative team and mentor research assistants, (2) a history of independent writing and leading peer-reviewed publications, (3) in-depth knowledge and direct application of advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses, and (4) an applied program of research.

Minimum technology skills & abilities: Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and common statistical programs (e.g., SPSS, AMOS, MPlus)

Organization Summary

To facilitate the Department of Defense's provision of high-quality support to military families, Military REACH bridges the gap between research and practice.

Our mission is two-fold - to make research accessible and practical. We strive to put research into the hands of military families, direct service helping professionals, and those who work on behalf of military families by harnessing collaborative expertise, maximizing technological advances, and actively disseminating products.
