The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) has a paid position open for the Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) Academic Program Review Liaison. This virtual office position (8-15 hours per week) would be carried out largely through email and conference calls and would not require location at NCFR headquarters. The Liaison would work with the Academic Program Review Committee and Dawn Cassidy, NCFR Director of Family Life Education, to carry out the processing and review of applications for NCFR CFLE Academic Program approval and renewal. They would also work with all NCFR Approved Programs to promote and facilitate the CFLE-approved program application process.

Position Responsibilities

  • Process incoming applications for program approval and renewal. Prepare applications for review by the Academic Program Review Committee (APRC)
  • Distribute applications to the APRC with appropriate forms and materials
  • Review and synthesize APRC evaluations for program approval and renewals; communicate review results to applicants
  • Process renewal applications when changes to the program are minimal; renewals with substantial changes from the previous application must be reviewed by the APRC
  • Correspond with program applicants regarding the status of their application
  • Monitor submission of renewal applications according to schedule
  • Process occasional updates to programs and checklists
  • Maintain and develop relationships with affiliated colleges and schools
  • Maintain and develop relationships with potential employers and the public
  • Lead the APRC meeting and Q & A session at the NCFR Conference and represent the APR program at the CFLE Reception
  • Serve as consultant to NCFR staff on relevant issues as needed
  • Write a quarterly article for the CFLE newsletter, Network regarding APR issues

Two-year contract with option for renewal.

Qualifications
  • Certified Family Life Educator with full status for at least five years
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Minimum ten years’ experience teaching within a family degree program
  • Experience in the CFLE-approved program application process preferred
  • Knowledgeable in Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint and conferencing software such as Zoom
  • NCFR membership preferred
