Extension Child Development and Family Life Specialist
New Mexico State University, College of Agricultural, Consumer & Environmental Sciences, Cooperative Extension Service, seeks to hire a tenure-track, 100% Extension position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Successful candidate will provide statewide leadership in planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating programs in family life education. Applicant must have ability to provide leadership and coordination with county agents in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating educational programs related to family life; to work with people from varied ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. (NM has large Hispanic and Native American populations); ability to interpret family life research findings and communicate to Extension faculty and staff and lay audiences. Basic understanding of the Cooperative Extension Service with Extension experience is preferred.
The position will be based in Las Cruces with state wide responsibilities. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and travel within state as necessary. Personal auto required, reimbursed at current IRS rates per mile. Valid driver’s license is required.
Ph.D. or Ed.D. required with at least one degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education, Family Relations/Family Studies, Child Development, Gerontology, Human Development or closely related field.
