Extension Specialist/Behavioral Health
New Mexico State University, College of Agricultural, Consumer & Environmental Sciences, Cooperative Extension Service announces the opening of an Extension Specialist/Behavioral Health. This is a 12-month, tenure track position with the rank of Assistant Professor. The Extension Specialist provides statewide leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of unique, complex, research- or evidence-based education in the area of behavioral health including development of educational curricula, products, and publications. Position is located in Las Cruces New Mexico but has statewide responsibilities. Travel is required in this position and may require working occasional evenings or weekends.
A Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to family studies, counseling, social work, human development, psychology, psychiatry, or a related field of study and 3-years of related experience is required. Preferred: Licensed behavioral health professional with clinical experience: Experience working with Native American, Latinx, and/or rural populations; Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/NM Indigenous language); Extension, outreach, or teaching experience.
