Assistant Professor/Social Work
New faculty members are expected to maintain an active agenda of research demonstrated through publication, external fund seeking, and professional presentations, as well as to teach/mentor undergraduate and graduate students and provide professional, community, and university service. The new faculty member will be primarily assigned to the MSW program though they may also teach classes in the BSW program.
Essential requirements for the appointment include an earned doctorate in social work or related field, an MSW from a CSWE accredited program and two years post-MSW social work practice experience. ABD candidates whose doctorate will be completed before the start of the fall 2020 semester will also be considered. We are particularly interested in candidates with teaching experience in social work. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of scholarly publication and/or external funding. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. There is also an expectation that the successful candidate will become a licensed social worker in the State of Texas.
