The College of Liberal Arts invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Studies and Community Development beginning August 2023.

The Department:
The Department of Family Studies and Community Development provides multidisciplinary undergraduate learning opportunities through the family and human services major. The internship/service-learning program has a distinct focus on community engagement, which serves to link the academic unit to the metropolitan community while enhancing student learning. The department also offers two graduate programs, one leading to a master’s degree in Child Life, Administration, and Family Collaboration and the other leading to a master’s in Leadership in Jewish Education and Communal Services. In addition, we offer post baccalaureate certificates in Family-Professional Collaboration, Jewish Communal Services and Jewish Education.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Family Science or related field. Individuals with MFT/CFT licensure or working toward MFT/CFT licensure are especially encouraged to apply. [ABD applicants with on-going progress will be considered, if all degree requirements are complete by February 1, 2024.] Strong commitment to excellence in teaching. Demonstrated success or potential to teach Family Science courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Demonstrated potential to develop a research agenda, including the potential to secure external funding. Demonstrated service to community, university, and/or field.
