The University of Arizona’s (UArizona) College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor of Practice and Program Director for online class delivery in the Human Services Program. The successful applicant will have the ability to lead CAST’s Council for Standard in Human Services Education (CSHSE) accredited Human Services program, and be a forward thinker with strong leadership skills that address a future-focused, career-ready thought process in the Human Service environment. The successful applicant will have expertise in the Human Services area, competence in working with various populations, and demonstrated involvement in regional and national human services-related professional organizations. The successful applicant will be required to teach a broad range of human service-related coursework; will teach, develop curriculum, and mentor/advise students in online formats; and will have experience and working knowledge of human service internships and accreditations. This position will be hired at a career-track Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on the final candidate’s level of education and experience.

The successful candidate will lead and work collaboratively with the Human Services Program faculty and community members to provide high-quality educational experiences to students, engage in an active scholarly agenda, participate in college governance, and enhance the college's reputation within the community.

CAST is seeking candidates who can demonstrate outstanding teaching and course development consistent with the college's purpose, vision, and values and who enjoy working with a diverse, post-traditional student population. This position will contribute to building a strong team of culturally diverse faculty and staff who are committed to preparing traditional and post-traditional transfer students for success in a 21st-century workforce.

This position is online but may require some work in Tucson/Sierra Vista, Arizona. This position may work remotely inside the state of Arizona.

CAST is the only college at UArizona that offers a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) Degree. BAS students are transfer, post-traditional students who take all their coursework in CAST’s enhanced, online education model.

This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Master from a regionally accredited U.S. university or comparable non-U.S. university is required in one of the following areas: Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, or a related area
College-level teaching experience in an online modality
Experience mentoring and teaching post-traditional students from diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated commitment to diversity issues in higher education and/or through community-based work

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in Human Services or related field.
Experience with academic program review and evaluation, program development, and innovative program delivery.
Experience with online learning technologies.
Experience with grant writing and administration.
Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement.
Experience with developing and implementing Human Service simulations into the curriculum.
Experience with border health issues and child life development.
Bilingual English/Spanish
