Assistant/Associate Professor of Risk and Resilience among Vulnerable Families, Adults, and Youth. Human Development and Family Studies, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Full-time, nine month, benefits-eligible, tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor. The successful candidate will have expertise in risk and resilience among vulnerable families, adults, and youth and how these may relate to food insecurity and health. Areas of expertise may include health disparities and access to food; child and youth health outcomes related to food insecurity; food insecurity and immigration; intersections of gender-race-family economic status and food insecurity; family coping strategies and food insecurity; and evidence-based, culturally-sensitive family community-focused interventions and policies regarding food insecurity.
All candidates must hold a PH.D. in HDFS, sociology, public health, psychology, or related field. Candidates should show potential for a strong research and teaching program in their area of specialization, and have completed their degree before the start date of the appointment.
The Department of Human Development and Family Studies is comprised of highly productive faculty committed to addressing challenges regarding human development, relationships, and families through cutting-edge research, award-winning instruction, and culturally sensitive outreach. HDFS faculty and student scholarship is always conducted with a view to relevant contextual issues and to practical implications be they for community or health professionals, families/parents, schools/teachers/youth program leaders, or policymakers.
