The Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) at the University of Missouri (MU) is pleased to announce the Eleanor Berger Blumenthal Child Life Graduate Fellowship to begin in the Fall 2025 semester. We seek an applicant who, while pursuing their doctoral degree, will work closely with the Child Life Program Director, clinical child life staff at MU Health Care Children’s Hospital, and HDFS graduate faculty. The successful applicant will also instruct the child life practicum seminar, supervise undergraduate student practicum experiences, and may also instruct other HDFS undergraduate courses. We are searching for individuals to join our team who share our commitment to teaching excellence, exceptional service to students, and continuous quality improvement in an environment of civility and respect.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
• Master's degree in child life or a closely-related field
• Intent to pursue a PhD
• Current certification as a child life specialist (CCLS)
• 1+ years experience supervising child life students and volunteers
• 3+ years paid clinical child life experience
• Excellent verbal, written, supervisory, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• 4+ years paid clinical experience
• Involvement in activities of the Association of Child Life Professionals
• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient care settings
