The Department of Child and Family Studies at the University of South Florida (USF) in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences is seeking an Assistant-Associate Professor for its Master of Science (M.S.) in Marriage and Family Therapy program. The program is in the final stage of seeking COAMFTE accreditation. This is a tenure earning 9 month Assistant-Associate Professor faculty position. This position will teach in person courses in the program during Fall and Spring semesters. The position will have responsibilities as both a core faculty member and a clinical supervisor as outline by COAMFTE accreditation standards. The role of core faculty member will include responsibilities for research and grant writing, advising, teaching, and other program related activities, such as develop/modify courses,
thesis experience for students, engage in program marketing/student recruitment, and serve on program and department committees. The role of clinical supervisor includes responsibilities for providing relational/systemic supervision for students during their 4 semesters of field placement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
-Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a social or behavioral sciences related field and meet the university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
-Must be able to demonstrate professional identity as a marriage and family therapist and
demonstrate contributions to the MFT profession in various ways such as scholarship, research, teaching, MFT relational/systemic supervision, clinical practice, service, training, and/or leadership.
-Eligible for clinical licensure in the state of Florida (marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, social work, or psychology).
-Candidates seeking to be hired at the Associate level are required to be a current PI or co-PI on an active grant.

Preferred Qualifications
-Graduated from a COAMFTE accredited masters or PhD program.
-Licensed as a LMFT in Florida.
-AAMFT Approved Supervisor or Candidate
-Experience with grant writing
-Evidence of a clear research focus and an early career record of scholarly activity
-Teaching experience with master’s level courses in marriage and family therapy
-Experience with diverse populations (clinical practice, research, teaching, service)
-Experience providing clinical supervision

The Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) is a full time two year in person degree.
