Utah State University Extension invites applications for a County Extension faculty position in the Home and Community Department. This is a 12-month, fiscal-year appointment, tenure track Extension Assistant/Associate Professor or non-tenure track Professional Practice Extension Assistant Professor Position. Extension faculty develop, implement, evaluate, and coordinate research-based educational programs to enhance quality of life for youth and adults. Extension faculty also recruit, train, and supervise volunteer leaders and serve as a liaison between local clientele, other resource agencies, and Utah State University administrators, faculty, and programs. This Extension position includes university responsibilities and is based in Uintah County. An office will be provided at the USU Extension office in Vernal, Utah.

Rank will be commensurate with experience, qualifications and current rank. Appointment opportunities include Extension Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure track), or Professional Practice Extension Assistant Professor (non-tenure track). A Master's degree is required for Extension Assistant or Associate ranks. A Bachelor's degree and substantial professional experience is required for the Professional Practice Extension Assistant Professor. The estimated start date for this position is July 1, 2024. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned master's degree (tenure track) or bachelor’s degree with significant experience related to the position (professional practice)
Experience in teaching to adult and/or youth audiences
Excellent oral and written English communication skills
Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work site

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with program development and/or delivery related to area of expertise, as listed above or similar
Ability to use various technology platforms for the creation and dissemination of educational webinars, on-line classes, and educational video productions
Ability to implement applied research and evidence-based activities
Experience with grant, professional, and scientific writing and grant management
Experience recruiting, supervising, and working with staff and volunteers
Experience working with diverse, low income, rural, and under-served audiences
Experience with marketing and community engagement via social media.
Experience in public speaking and presenting
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (Bilingual)
Willing and able to reach various cultural diversity needs within the county, including Latinx programming
Prior experience with the Land Grant University System
Willing to work with community leaders, partners, agencies, and Uintah County
Ability to plan, organize, and direct educational programs
Ability to act as a liaison between federal, state, university and county clientele
Knowledge of USU Extension and understanding of Uintah County demographics
