Job Description:
The Department of Child and Family Studies at Weber State University is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The tenure-track position includes a full-time undergraduate/graduate teaching load of 12 hours per semester, with expectations of publication, student advising, and participation in departmental, university, and community committees. Preference will be given to applicants with clinical training and work experience. Preference will also be given to experiences that are culturally diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

Job Duties:
Duties include teaching a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses which may include GenEd Courses, Diversity Courses, and Honors Courses. This position will have a special emphasis in addressing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion concerns in the fields of Human Development and Family Science (4/4 load). Required Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in either Marriage and Family Therapy, Family Studies, Family Science, Human Development and Family Studies, or closely related field (a strong ABD may be considered if degree completed by August 25, 2022).
• The candidate must be able to teach in support of the department curriculum designed around the NCFR content areas and criteria for training Certified Family Life Educators and provide documentation of competencies as they relate to the 10 CFLE content areas.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate or graduate students.
• A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with strong evidence of commitment to providing a community that is culturally diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for students, staff, faculty, and community members.
• A therapist with a background in mental health and/or professional practices working with infants through adults.
• A degree in Family Science and/or Education.
• Experience with students from diverse and/or underrepresented backgrounds, such as ESL/ELL.
• A background in trauma-informed teaching and education in multiple areas of diversity.
• A willingness to teach general education courses and collaborative WSU/Honors courses.
• Related community service and experience with diverse and/or underrepresented groups is desired.
• A demonstrated research agenda and interest in involving students in research activities. A track record of scholarly publication and the potential for grant procurement is desired.
• Multicultural/ethnic minority background or experience.
