†To qualify for emeritus membership, you must be retired and have been an NCFR professional-level member for at least 10 years. You can change your membership status online when you renew.
‡New professional members have graduated from a degree program within the last 24 months; you may be asked to submit proof of graduation with date. New-professional membership status may be renewed once (two years total).
§Students may be asked to provide proof of academic enrollment. After three years, student memberships are automatically changed to new-professional membership. If you're still enrolled in a degree program at that time, please notify NCFR and submit proof of enrollment.
Joining NCFR Sections
NCFR sections are member groups that connect members who have similar professional-topic interests.
The fee to join a section is $10 per section for professional/emeritus members and $5 per section for students.

Webinars: Enhance your skills and knowledge and grow professionally. Members get a special rate for new webinars, plus free access to all on-demand webinars one after their live debut.
Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) Fees & Products: As a member, pay a reduced annual fee to maintain your credential, and also pay a reduced fee to apply to become a CFLE.
Bookstore Items: Several books on Family Science and Family Life Education are available at a member discount.
NCFR Journal Submission Fees: Save on your article submissions to NCFR's three peer-reviewed, scholarly journals.
Print Books From Wiley: Get a 25% discount on books you purchase from Wiley, the publisher of NCFR's journals.

NCFR Report: NCFR's members-only magazine features a "Family Focus" section of research-based articles on Family Science topics.
On-Demand Webinars: One year after a webinar's live debut, they are free for members to access.
Past Conference Recordings: Conference recordings become free for members one year after each conference.
Sections: 10 member groups called sections bring together members with similar broad professional interests, such as "Advancing Family Science" or "Families and Health."
Focus Groups: More than two dozen focus groups help members connect around narrower topic interests.
Affiliates: State/regional affiliates and student affiliates — local chapters — connect you with local colleagues.
Online Discussion Groups: Ask questions and share resources within your member groups or with the greater NCFR membership.

Your NCFR membership starts on the first day of the month in which you join and continues for 12 months. But to ensure that you get at least a full year of member benefits, your benefits will continue for an additional 30 days. For example, if you joined on Oct. 15, 2018, your official membership period is Oct. 1, 2018, to Sept. 30, 2019, but your benefits will continue until Oct. 31, 2019.
Cancellations and Refunds
NCFR memberships are non-refundable.If you would still like to cancel your NCFR membership (though NCFR will not be able to provide a refund), please email NCFR membership staffor call NCFR at 763-781-9331.
