Abstract(s)

The Latino population is disproportionately affected by the obesity epidemic. Through an ecological framework, we will discuss the process of program development, culturally tailoring, and implementation of three different family-based wellness programs targeted toward Latinos. We explore strategies informed through positionality, community-based participatory research, focus groups, program observation, and field notes. Through these strategies, we reflect that positionality influences implementation efforts. Researchers have been able to use participant feedback to adapt learning strategies and have seen how to develop trust through observation. These reflections not only have positive implications for our health promotion programs but also benefit future Latino interventions.

Objectives
