2019 Conference On-Site Amenities

The Omni Fort Worth Hotel is the headquarters for the 2019 NCFR Annual Conference (see room reservations & rates). All presentations, meetings, poster sessions, exhibits, and events will be held at this location.

Below are several key conference services and amenities to enhance and enrich your conference experience.

In addition:

  • Captioning at Plenary Sessions: NCFR will offer live on-screen captioning for its four plenary sessions at the 2019 conference, provided by a captionist with expertise in captioning academic content. All attendees will also be provided with handheld fans/signs to use in any session to indicate to a presenter to speak louder.   • The Omni Fort Worth Hotel and NCFR want to ensure that all individuals can participate fully in the NCFR conference. For needs related to guest accommodations, please contact the hotel directly at 817-535-6664.

  • NCFR can provide reasonable accommodations for disability when requests are made in advance. For requests made at the conference, it might not be possible to provide certain accommodations. NCFR cannot provide personal aide services. If you have questions while at the conference, visit the conference registration desk.

 

Hotel Accommodations and Dining

Each guest room for registered NCFR attendees includes complimentary wifi and mini-fridge coolers. ADA accessible rooms available by request.

A cash concessions stand will be available on the second floor near exhibit booths for quick breakfast and lunch options for purchase. Hours: Wed.–Fri., 7–9 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.– 1 p.m.

The Omni Fort Worth Hotel also houses several dining options, including a steakhouse, a casual restaurant, a neighborhood bar, and a Starbucks. Full details

Child Care

For parents seeking supervised care for children traveling with them to the conference, local provider Mom's Best Friend is accepting reservations for in-room hotel care.

Rates are $24.95/hour for 1-3 children, and $25.95/hour for 4-5 children. A $125 membership fee is waived for hotel clients (at the conference host hotel or other hotel at which you stay to attend the 2019 conference). There is a four-hour minimum for all care scheduled.  

Parents or caregivers are responsible for making their own arrangements and paying for all child care fees, including parking for the sitter. Learn about the sitter screening process and make a reservation on the Mom's Best Friend website.

Family and Nursing Room

Location: Stockyard 2 (second floor)
Hours: Wed.–Fri., 7 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sat., 7 a.m.–11 a.m.

A non-staffed, designated room will be provided for parents and their small children, and for nursing. Includes small table and chair, and draped-off private area with comfortable seating for nursing or expressing milk.

 

All-Gender Restrooms

Location: 2nd and 3rd floors, near men’s and women’s restrooms. Identifying signage will be displayed outside all-gender restrooms.

NCFR's identification of all-gender restrooms at its annual conference is intended to make public restrooms in our host hotel more welcoming and safer for transgender, gender-expansive people, and those who need restroom assistance. Our goal is to provide a safe and accessible environment for all people attending our conference. Location information will be available closer to the conference.

Onsite Wellness – Yoga, Meditation, and More

NCFR seeks to support attendees' well-being during their on-site conference experience.

  • A Spirituality/Meditation Room will be available as a quiet space on conference days: Wednesday, Nov. 20: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 21, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 22, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 23, 8 a.m. to Noon.

  • Morning yoga sessions will be available Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 to 7 a.m.
    Location: Texas Ballroom A

  • Water fill stations will be available throughout the conference meeting rooms.

 

Relax and Recharge Room

Location: Fort Worth Ballroom 3
Hours: Wed.–Fri., 7 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sat., 7 a.m.–Noon

Conference attendees looking for a quiet place to either work or unwind are invited to check in to the Relax and Recharge Room. Separate yet nearby other session and meeting rooms, it will feature tables for attendees to gather casually, as well as computers, a printer, and device chargers free for attendees to use. More details will follow about location and amenities provided in this space.

 

Conference Registration Desk & Help Desk

Pick up your registration materials — including your badge to wear throughout the conference — at the registration desk, located on the second floor near the escalators.

At the help desk nearby registration, staff can answer further questions about how to navigate the conference — locating events and services, contacting other staff for assistance, identifying additional conference details, and more.

  • Monday, Nov. 18 — 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 19 — 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 20 — 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 21 — 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 22 — 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 23 — 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Anyone participating in the conference must be recorded in our system and wear a conference badge, so please stop at the registration desk to pick up your badge and materials upon arrival! This includes all registrants, visitors to see an award presentation, guests attending receptions only, exhibitors or those staffing a University Receptions table, etc.

Please note: Conference attendees have access to choices of breakout/concurrent sessions to attend throughout the conference, but your registration does not guarantee a seat in concurrent session rooms. Rooms may need to be closed if attendance reaches capacity, so we encourage you to arrive early to sessions to help ensure that you receive a seat.

 

Conference Streaming

All on-site conference attendees will be able to watch 17 conference sessions on their internet-connected devices, either as the sessions are happening or later on demand. Recordings of these sessions will be available on demand for one year to all conference registrants.

You'll also find an additional broadcast of the live-streaming sessions on a large screen in the Relax and Recharge Room.

 

Safety & Security

Please read the NCFR Annual Conference Code of Conduct and learn how to report harassment or unacceptable behavior that occurs at the conference.

Anyone attending NCFR conference events — including visitors — must be registered and wear a badge at all times while attending conference sessions and activities. Registered conference attendees must pick up their own badges and registration materials. No exceptions.

  • Guests: A $55 registration is available to guests of conference registrants to attend receptions. Register online or visit the conference registration desk for assistance.
