Poster Session 3: Hispanic/Latina/o/x Families

Presenters: Fiorella Carlos Chavez, Sophia Bell, Jordynn Hundley

Summary
Latino migrant youth send financial remittances to their families in their countries of origin and work to build their own financial well-being (Heidbrink, 2018). Although these youth endure harsh working conditions and work away from their families (Peoples et al., 2010), little is known about their experiences and the understanding of gratitude and hope among Latino migrant farmworker youth. It is possible that Latino migrant farmworker youth show gratitude toward their work and family despite the adversities of being a working migrant in and adult world. The present research begins to address this gap in Latino migrant youth research.
