Auburn University - Department of Human Development and Family Science
The mission of the Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) at Auburn University is to generate, disseminate, and apply scientific knowledge of human, family, and community development. We focus on understanding and supporting optimal development across the lifespan using multidisciplinary approaches and cutting edge methodologies. Our core areas include the intersections of individuals, families, and communities, with a special focus on relationships and the biopsychosocial underpinnings of healthy development and well-being. We are committed to creating and applying knowledge to prevention and intervention efforts with the goal of assisting individuals, families, and communities in reaching their full potential.
California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University
For more than 50 years, the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University has educated over 16,000 psychology students as one of the nation’s first free-standing schools of professional psychology. Today, our in-person and online psychology programs continue its commitment to preparing the next generation of mental health professionals and advocates. Our dedication to ensuring every community’s access to quality mental health care extends from integrated care to inclusive family therapy, and our students begin making an impact in the communities they serve from the moment they set foot in our classrooms.
East Carolina University — Department of Human Development and Family Science
The Department of Human Development and Family Science at East Carolina University offers eight academic programs and a variety of experiences and opportunities for students. Our graduate programs include a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Science (HDFS), a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Family Therapy (MedFT). Graduate students interested in Child Life should apply for our HDFS MS program. Our award winning faculty enthusiastically engage our students in and out of the classroom through interactive lectures, research collaboration, student organizations, community service projects, study abroad opportunities and other activities. Much of our faculty’s research can be found in national and international publications and has been presented at regional, national and international conferences.

The Applied Human Sciences Department at Kansas State University Offers a variety of academic programs that address the health and well- Being of individuals and families. Programs within the department include Master’s and PhD programs in Applied Family Science and Couple and Family Therapy, and an online Family and Community Services Master’s Program.

Located just eight miles from the nation’s capital, the Department of Family Science at the University of Maryland offers four programs: Ph.D. degrees in Maternal & Child Health and Family Science; M.S. Couple & Family Therapy; B.S. Family Science. The Family Science program provides interdisciplinary training in research, theory, policy and practice relevant to the health and well-being of families in contemporary society.
University of Missouri — Department of Human Development and Family Science
HDFS at Mizzou offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on training in research, teaching, and service. We offer several undergraduate and graduate degree options, both on campus and online, that can lead to careers in research, college or university teaching, industry, government agencies, or to administrative positions in public and private institutions. At the graduate level, students can enhance their service careers in family and community services or positive youth development by earning a Master's degree completely online. Our research-intensive on-campus PhD program consistently graduates faculty members to positions at Doctoral/Research Extensive Universities across the country.
