About the Session

Presider: Leigh A. Leslie, 2019-2021 NCFR President

All NCFR members are invited to attend the annual member meeting to hear updates on NCFR's activities and ask questions.

Included will be a discussion facilitated by NCFR Fellow Bahira Sherif Trask, Ph.D., about NCFR's role in setting and maintaining standards for Family Science academic programs.

NCFR’s Global Ends policies, which guide the organization’s work, direct NCFR to “develop and monitor standards for Family Science programs.”

Through its current Advancing Family Science Initiative, NCFR is working to strengthen the identity of Family Science and create greater visibility for the discipline. Family Science academic programs form a key component of the discipline's identity; to ensure a clear and consistent identity for Family Science, it will be important to hear members' thoughts about needs or issues around setting standards for academic programs at all degree levels.
