Hyatt Regency Bellevue is the headquarters for the 2024 NCFR Annual Conference (see room reservations & rates). 

All presentations, meetings, poster sessions, exhibits, and events will be held at this location.

Conference Registration and Badges

Anyone attending NCFR conference events must be registered and wear a conference badge at all times. Your registration fee covers attendance at:

  • plenaries, special sessions, invited sessions, symposia, workshops, papers, lightning papers, resource exchanges, posters
  • section and focus group meetings
  • meetings of boards or committees to which you belong
  • exhibits
  • receptions and special events, except the following events that cost extra or are by invitation/RSVP only: pre-conference workshops; TCRM sessions; Mentoring Academy; CFLE Reception; Legacy Circle Reception

Preconference Workshops have separate registration fees. You may add any workshop to your conference registration at any time. Log in at my.ncfr.org, click the Events menu item, then click Edit next to the conference event for which you'd like to modify your registration.

Guests: A $89 registration is available to guests of conference registrants to attend receptions only no conference sessions. Please register online at https://www.ncfr.org/ncfr-2024/registration

Visitors: Visitor badges are available to approved visitors, such as family of award recipients attending an award ceremony. All visitors must be registered and wear a badge while attending conference activities. Does not include reception attendance.

 

Badge Pick-Up

Location: 2nd floor (Olympic Tower)
Mon., 2–6 p.m.; Tue.-Wed., 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; Thu.–Fri., 7 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sat., 7 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

Visit the conference badge pick-up area to pick up your conference badge upon arrival. All registrants — including visitors to see an award presentation, guests attending receptions only, exhibitors, those staffing a University Receptions table, etc. — must be registered and wear a badge while attending conference activities and sessions.

At the conference badge pick-up area, staff can answer questions about how to navigate the conference — locating events and services, contacting other staff for assistance, identifying additional conference details, and more.

Student Aide Check-In Desk

Location: 2nd floor, near badge pick-up area (Olympic Tower)

All students who have signed up for and received a student aide assignment for the conference should check in at least 15 minutes before their work time at the student aide desk, located near the badge pick-up area on the second floor.

 

Hotel Accommodations & Dining

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi in all meeting spaces and every guest rooms
  • Complimentary in-room refrigerators and safes
  • Vegetarian and gluten-free selections are included at receptions and are available for catered events.
  • The Hyatt Regency Hotel also houses several dining options, including restaurants, bars, a deli, café, and coffee bar.

Health & Safety

All conference participants are encouraged to wear face masks in all conference-related event spaces. NCFR will have a supply of masks available, including clear face masks, but suggests attendees come prepared with their own masks. Read more.

Code of Conduct

NCFR is committed to providing a safe and collegial meeting environment that fosters open dialogue and free expression of ideas without harassment, discrimination, and hostile conduct, as well as equal opportunity and treatment for all its conference participants. This same commitment is expected of all conference participants.

Accessibility

  • Captioning at Sessions: NCFR will offer live on-screen captioning at the 15 sessions scheduled in the Grand Ballroom at the 2024 conference, provided by a captioner with expertise in captioning academic content. This is an expanded coverage from past years. Sponsored by Auburn University, Department of Human Development & Family Science

  • "Speak Louder" Signs: All attendees will have access to handheld fans/signs to use in any session to indicate to a presenter to speak louder

  • Every academic session, regardless of the size of the room, will be equipped with a microphone and amplifying electronic speaker. In some cases, we will have multiple microphones for panel sessions. 

  • Clear facemasks designed to allow those with hearing loss to see the lips of speakers will be available for conference attendees. Should presenters wear a face mask, it may be removed during presentations to improve overall audio and support lip reading.

  • NCFR and the Hyatt Regency want to ensure that all individuals can participate fully in the NCFR conference. For needs related to guest accommodations, please contact the hotel directly at (425) 462-1234.

  • NCFR can provide reasonable accommodations for disabilities for participation in conference sessions when you make a request in advance. It may not be possible to provide certain accommodations when requests are made at the conference. Neither NCFR nor hotel staff can provide personal assistance/aide services. Child Care

Traveling to Bellevue for the 2024 NCFR Annual Conference and need reliable childcare? Parents seeking supervised care for their children traveling with them also have the option to secure On Call Nanny, also recommended by the Convention Visitor's Bureau. Arrangements can be made by calling 206-890-8898, select option 1 or by visiting their website.

All-Gender Restroom

Location: 2nd floor, near Regency Ballroom (Cascade Tower) 
Identifying signage will be displayed outside all-gender restroom(s).

 

Family and Nursing Room

A non-staffed, designated room is provided for family time. The space includes seating and table and chairs.

Location: Maple, 3rd floor (Olympic Tower)
Hours: Wed.-Fri., 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sat., 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The Hyatt Regency Hotel also offers a dedicated nursing room.
Location: Green, 3rd floor (Olympic Tower)

 

Meditation Room

Location: Madrona, 3rd floor (Cascade Tower)
Hours: Wed.-Fri., 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sat., 7 a.m. - Noon
NCFR Religion, Spirituality, and Family Section will host a group meditation time in this room Thursday and Friday, 7:10 a.m. - 7:40 a.m.

 

Relax and Recharge Room

Location: Birch, 2nd floor (Cascade Tower)
Hours: Wed.–Fri., 7 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sat., 7 a.m.–Noon

The Relax and Recharge Room provides a place to work, unwind, or gather casually with other attendees. Find comfortable seating, a conference table, two laptops, a printer, a charging station free for attendees to use.

 

Getting Around Bellevue

Private Transport:

Premier Airport Shuttle is a viable option for students or attendees who are traveling together. This method of transport can also be reserved in advance. This shuttle service can also take attendees directly from the airport to the hotel in Bellevue. A 1-way fare ranges from $60-$75 for 4 people.

 

Public Transport:

Line 560 is another route and it does not require a bus change. it can take travelers from the airport terminal to the Bellevue Transit Center, and then approximately a 10-minute walk to the Hyatt. The 560 comes every 30 minutes Monday-Friday and hourly Saturday, Sunday & Holidays. Attendees can take this means of transport directly from the SeaTac Airport Terminal in Bay 2 directly to the Bellevue Transit Center in Bay 6 (right by the Meydenbauer Center). From there, attendees can take 6th street and then it is approximately a 10-minute walk to the Hyatt. Estimated price is around $1-$4 dollars/person.

BellHop is an electric, on-demand, free shuttle service that offers a shared experience with other BellHop riders, to and from places like Old Main restaurants, downtown attractions, Spring District market pop-ups, and more.
