The award celebrates outstanding higher education instructors in Family Science who bring innovation, passion, and personal drive for excellence to their teaching practices each and every day.

Submissions and nominations will be accepted through Sept. 9, 2022. Please consider submitting your work for consideration or nominating a peer who’s truly making a difference for their students, their institution, and the discipline at large.

Cognella and NCFR will recognize two tremendous instructors in 2022. The first-place recipient of the award will receive a $1,000 cash prize, and the second-place winner will receive a $500 Cognella book credit. Recipients will receive a celebratory plaque and public award announcements through Cognella and NCFR. The awards will be presented at the NCFR Annual Conference, Nov. 16–19, 2022.

Applicants and nominees must be current NCFR members, hold a doctoral degree in their respective discipline, and have taught at least three Family Science or Family Life Education courses during the 12 months immediately leading up to the award submission deadline (Sept. 9, 2022).
