Beth Magistad Selected as Editor of CFLE Network
SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA — The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) is pleased to announce that Beth Magistad, Ph.D., has accepted the position of editor for CFLE Network, the quarterly newsletter published for professionals who hold the Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) credential.
Dr. Magistad has been an NCFR member for 28 years and most recently she served as the director of parent and family education at the University of Minnesota. She has held a Minnesota teaching license in Parent and Family Education since 1996. She earned her doctorate in Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota and has spent almost 20 years teaching a wide variety of courses to both graduate and undergraduate students. Dr. Magistad has extensive knowledge of Family Life Education and has taught courses in many of the content areas including Parent-Child Relationships, Family Policy, Family Resource Management, Family Education, and courses focused on a variety of interpersonal and family relationships such as Parent as Couples and Aging Families.
Dr. Magistad will work throughout the editorial process with NCFR staff Dawn Cassidy, M.Ed., CFLE, director of Family Life Education. Dr. Magistad has a long history of working with both graduate and undergraduate students on their writing. She looks forward to identifying issues and creating content relevant to the CFLE practitioner audience and working with authors on their submissions. The Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) credential, administered by NCFR, is the nationally recognized standard in Family Life Education. The credential validates the experience and knowledge of professionals in Family Life Education settings, and helps employers and clients understand the value of these qualifications.
