Borden Appointed to Director of University of Minnesota Consortium

Lynne Borden

NCFR member Lynne Borden, Ph.D., a professor of Family Science at the University of Minnesota (UMN), has been appointed as the new director of the Children, Youth, & Family Consortium. 

Dr. Borden has done extensive research in child and youth development. She focuses on community-based programs and the role of these organizations in promoting the positive development of young people and their families. One prominent example of her work is Military REACH, a collaboration with the United States Department of Defense’s Office of Policy/Children & Youth.

Dr. Borden is the principal investigator of the Center for Research and Outreach (REACH), and served as head of the Department of Family Social Science at UMN. She earned her M.A. from the University of Colorado at Denver and her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
