SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA — The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) is pleased to announce that member Claire Kimberly, Ph.D., CFLE, has accepted the new position of webinar coordinator. Dr. Kimberly will help NCFR expand its webinar programming for family scholars and practitioners.

Dr. Kimberly is a research coordinator in the Department of Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University. She received her doctorate at the University of Kentucky. At NCFR, she has served in various leadership roles including the Students and New Professionals representative and secretary of the Affiliate Councils Board, and secretary of the Southeastern Council on Family Relations. She is the 2015 recipient of the Cindy Winter Scholarship Award.

Dr. Kimberly’s background in the family field, working in both the community and academia, is an asset to this position as is her history as an NCFR member and CFLE. Her involvement working with students and affiliates, and service to the NCFR Academic Program Review committee has provided her with a familiarity and understanding of the structure of NCFR as an organization and of the needs of the membership. The opportunity to have a member representative in this role will be a great asset toward continued growth of the webinar program.

Members and CFLEs are encouraged to share their ideas and feedback about how NCFR can best use the webinar program to meet their needs. What topics do you want to hear about? Would you be interested in presenting a webinar through NCFR? Please email Dr. Claire Kimberly to share your ideas.

Additionally, attendees at the 2018 NCFR Annual Conference can meet Dr. Kimberly in person at the NCFR exhibit table on Thursday, Nov. 8, from noon–4 p.m.
