Jean Paulsel awarded CFLE Emeritus status

The Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) Emeritus status has been awarded to CFLE Jean Paulsel in recognition of her significant contributions to the field of Family Life Education.

Jean Paulsel

Jean Paulsel, Ph.D., CFLEoperates a consulting firm, Paulsel Consulting Services, in which she writes grants, reviews programs for the National Head Start Association, and trains professionals for early childhood programs. Dr. Paulsel has worked as an administrator of programs for children and families for nearly 40 years. She is actively involved with the Texas community, as a member of the community advisory council at the Center for Older Adults through the University of North Texas Health Science Center, the community health advisory committee with Extension in Parker County, and as a previous board member with the Texas Council on Family Relations (TxCFR).

Dr. Paulsel's previous experience includes associate professor and extension specialist with Texas A&M University, department chair at Weatherford College, and county extension agent with 4-H Texas Cooperative Extension. Through various roles, she was able to develop programs and modules for child care directors and providers, engage in grant writing, train Head Start personnel, and create an academic department.

Dr. Paulsel has been invited to give presentations at national events and conferences, including but not limited to, the Texas Association for Family Child Care and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She taught undergraduate and graduate students, developed Extension programming, and peer-reviewed for several organizations including the NCFR Annual Conference. 

Dr. Paulsel earned her bachelor's in vocational home economics from Texas Tech University, master's in human development and family living from University of North Texas, and doctorate in family studies from Texas Woman's University. She has been an active NCFR member and CFLE since 2000.
