    Dr. Melton

    Karen K. Melton, Ph.D., CTRS, (pictured at right) was named a 2018 Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year at Baylor University. She has been an assistant professor of family and consumer sciences, and child and family studies, in the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences since 2014.

  • Spencer B. Olmstead, Ph.D., CFLE, has received the Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentor of the Year Award for the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. To be nominated for this award, faculty must be nominated by multiple students and at least one of those students must have presented at EURēCA undergraduate research conference. Spencer was nominated by two NCFR members, one undergraduate and one graduate student.

  • Heidi E. Stolz, Ph.D., received both the Irma Fitch Giffels and the Jacquelyn Orlando DeJonge Faculty Awards from the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The Irma Fitch Giffels award is awarded to a faculty member in the health and human sciences areas of child and family studies, nutrition, public health or retail, hospitality, and tourism management. This award is based on superlative research, teaching and service. The Jacquelyn Orlando DeJonge Faculty Award is based on superlative research, teaching, or service.

  • Laura A. Landry-Meyer, Ph.D., CFLE, was named the 2018 Educator of the Year by the Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education. Dr. Landry-Meyer is an associate professor of human development and family studies at Bowling Green State University, and a member of the CFLE Academic Program Review.
