    Lee Ann De Reus, Ph.D., is the new executive director of the Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project (DV LEAP), a national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. She was previously an associate professor for 20 years at Penn State Altoona in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies. DV LEAP makes the law work for survivors of domestic violence by challenging unjust trial court outcomes; advancing legal protections through expert appellate advocacy; training lawyers, psychologists and judges on best practices; and spearheading domestic violence litigation in the U.S. Supreme Court. Dr. De Reus is an internationally recognized expert on gender, sexualized violence, and women’s rights. She is the co-founder and chair of the board of directors of Panzi Foundation USA, a nonprofit that assists survivors of gender-based violence at Panzi Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo. At NCFR, she was program chair for the 2016 Annual Conference, chair of the Feminism and Family Studies Section, and a frequent contributor to NCFR journals.

    Sothy Eng, Ph.D., has received a tenure-track position at the University of Hawaii. He will serve as the assistant professor of Healthy Families and Resilient Communities in the human development and family studies program in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Dr. Eng has served as a professor of practice at Lehigh University since 2011, and director of the Lehigh University/Caring for Cambodia Partnership Program (2011-2017). Born and raised in Camboida, Dr. Eng is an expert on educational access and equity, child and adolescent learning and development, gender equity, intimate partner violence, and international development. Dr. Eng is a prolific scholar, regular contributor to The Huffington Post, and a frequent presenter (and volunteer photographer) at NCFR conferences.
