Joyce Serido, Ph.D., M.B.A., is the new editor-in-chief of the Journal of Family and Economic Issues, as of January 1, 2019. The journal addresses the relationship between the family and its economic environment, including issues in family management, household division of labor and productivity, relationships between economic and non-economic decisions, and the interrelation of work and family life, among others. Dr. Serido previously served as an assoicate editor beginning in 2016. She is an associate professor of family social science at the University of Minnesota, and has been widely-published for her research on family and finances, including in Family Relations: Interdisciplinary Journal of Applied Family Science.
Brandon T. McDaniel, Ph.D., is the recipient of the University Research Initiative Award at Illinois State University (ISU). In his two years at ISU, Dr. McDaniel has published 14 journal articles and two book chapters, with seven more manuscripts currently under review, and has received two university research grants. Family and Consumer Science Chair Ani Yazedjian, Ph.D., offered Dr. McDaniel her praise saying, “The number of [his] articles is outstanding, but what is more important is the quality and relevance of his scholarship. In only a two year time-frame, his publications have been cited over 400 times and have been published in highly respected journals, including the flagship journal, Child Development.”
