In Memoriam: David A. Dosser, Jr.

David Dosser

NCFR member David A. Dosser, Jr., Ph.D., died April 28, 2020, at the age of 70.

Dr. Dosser earned his bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Georgia, a master’s in counselor education from Georgia State University, and completed his doctorate in child and family development at the University of Georgia. He began his teaching career at North Dakota State University in 1981.

Dr. Dosser was a faculty member of what is now the Department of  Human Development and Family Science at East Carolina University (ECU) from 1988 
until his retirement in 2014. He was instrumental in establishing the marriage and family therapy program at ECU, teaching courses in this subject, and serving as the director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic.

During the last 11 years of his tenure, he served as the faculty athletic representative for ECU and was selected by his peers to serve on NCAA committees for the American Athletic Conference.
