Longtime NCFR member Clara T. Appell, Ph.D., of Greenwich, Connecticut, passed away on Dec. 5, 2014, at age 93.

Dr. Appell, who received her doctorate in 1959 from Columbia University after researching the effects of TV-watching on child behavior, was an NCFR member from 1946 through 2012. Throughout her career as a teacher, professor, consultant, and program coordinator, she worked on many family therapy and family life education projects.
