When NCFR asked members in 2018 whether NCFR should create a mentoring program, “yes” was the answer for more than 96% of survey respondents.

Given many members’ clear desire for a program that creates professional mentoring relationships, NCFR and its Students and New Professionals (SNP) leaders are excited to pilot the NCFR Mentoring Academy program, in which all members are invited to be involved as a mentor or a mentee.

The NCFR Mentoring Academy aims to advance the discipline of Family Science by supporting and encouraging the professional development of graduate students and early-career Family Science professionals.

Applications for the first year of the pilot program are due July 1, 2019. Applicants will be notified by Sept. 15, 2019.
