LaFarris L. Risby Recognized for Entrepreneurship and Excellence
LaFarris L. Risby, CFLE, was recently presented the Longevity in Business Award at the 2nd Annual Circle of Community Black Business Awards and Gala. Ms. Risby is an entrepreneur with a passion for the community. She is the founder of Loving Arms Enterprises, Inc., the largest and oldest Black woman-owned business in the Flint Hills region. Ms. Risby amplifies other entrepreneurs as an author, motivational speaker, consultant, trainer, and business coach. She was also recognized at the 35th Annual Minority and Women Business Awards Luncheon by the Kansas Department of Commerce Office of Minority and Women Business Development in 2019. In 2018, she successfully completed and became an Alumni of Goldman Sachs’s 10,000 Small Businesses Program. Ms. Risby's childcare firm was awarded the Minority-Owned Business Service Industry Firm of the year in 2019, and in 2013, she was awarded Business Advocate of the Year by the same organization. She also writes the “Brown Bag Parenting” blog.
Ms. Risby has been a CFLE since 2004.
