In the latest NCFR member news...

Kimberly Greder, Ph.D., CFLE, has developed a new curriculum to guide communities on engaging with youth. It is the result of a project to involve Des Moines youth in discussions on neighborhood plans and grew from research that identified barriers and enablers to Black and Latinx youth's academic success and college attainment. Dr. Greder is a professor of human development and family studies and family life extension state specialist at Iowa State University. Read more about the project.

Hilary A. Rose, Ph.D., CFLE, and her research were featured recently in the Montreal Gazette. Her study finds that LGBTQ youth feel less support from their families, but that heterosexual youth are receiving more familial support. Interestingly, both groups of youth feel safer and more supported in their school environments. Dr. Rose is an associate professor of applied human sciences at Concordia University.  Read more about the study.
