Emoji are everywhere these days on all forms of technology, from text messages to websites, and even in your beloved Zippy News! 😅😻☕🍩

Variations of these ubiquitous symbols (Japanese for "picture word") representing everything from 🍎 to 🦓 have been around for a short while but really took off with the advent of smartphones.

And so it's surprising to learn that many of the emojis we use today were first designed by an Apple intern. This week's video tells her story.
