Zippy's Video of the Week: Tell the Whole Story
A recent PSA from Cartoon Network proves that you're never too young—or too old—to learn about racial equality. In the video, an alien character named Pearl (from the show "Steven Universe”) is surprised to find history textbooks aren't telling the whole story.
“There were Black Roman warriors, Black medieval knights, Black classical musicians, Black cowboys, Black fighter pilots. Where are they?” asks the alien. “Thanks to systemic racism, most of your storytellers prioritized White accomplishments which leaves you with an incomplete picture.”
The campaign was developed in partnership with clinical psychologist—and NCFR 2020 plenary presenter—Kira H. Banks, Ph.D. (Registered attendees for NCFR 2020 can watch Dr. Banks plenary on demand).
