The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) at Auburn University, through a partnership with the Department of Defense (DoD) and the US Department of Agriculture - National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA/NIFA), is seeking candidates for the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support the work of Military REACH. Military REACH provides high-quality resources to the DoD in the form of research and professional development tools across the spectrum of family support, resilience, and readiness. In collaboration with the larger research team, this individual will assist in the summarizing and synthesizing of family science research for target audiences, including policymakers, helping professionals, and military families.

This individual will work collaboratively with the Military REACH research team to plan, oversee, and complete research projects, such as literature reviews, addressing topics pertinent to the grant’s target audiences.

Dependent on project needs and candidate interest, there is also potential for the individual in this position to conduct quantitative data analyses, prepare publications, and contribute to grant writing.

This is currently a one-year position but may be renewable dependent on funding continuation and job performance.

Entry into the applicant pool requires a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or a related discipline. Degree must be awarded prior to employment. Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and common statistical programs (e.g., SPSS, AMOS, MPlus).

Strong candidates will demonstrate: (1) leadership skills to manage a diverse, collaborative team and mentor research assistants, (2) a history of independent writing and leading peer-reviewed publications, (3) in-depth knowledge and direct application of advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses, and (4) an applied program of research.
