Dr. Perez-Brena of the School of Family and Consumer Sciences at Texas State University is seeking a qualified postdoctoral research associate. This appointment will be for one year (12 months) with the possibility of extending to a second year. Responsibilities of this position include data analyses, preparation of publications, assistance in grant writing, and conference presentations. Research projects will explore how cultural (e.g., values, norms, acculturation, discrimination) and family (e.g., parent-adolescent relationships, coparenting) factors inform Latino adolescents transition into adult roles (e.g., parenthood, college, career) using multiple family and longitudinal datasets. Further, this position will aid in the dissemination (e.g., analysis, presentation, publication) of data collected from an intervention project supporting adolescent parents’ transition into this off-time transition into adulthood (e.g., coparenting, romantic relationship, parenting skills training).

Qualifications

Required: Ph.D. in human development, psychology, sociology, education or a related discipline in social sciences. Preferred: a) strong writing ability, b) advanced quantitative skills (e.g., SEM path analysis models, growth modeling, latent class analysis, multilevel models) or advanced qualitative skills, and c) strong publication record.
