Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Education addresses the needs of individuals, families, and consumers by focusing on relationships, personal development, personal finance management, parenting, child development, interior and fashion design, nutrition and work and family balance.

FACS teachers positively impact the lives of individuals, the health of families, and the welfare of society. FACS teachers are employed in middle, junior high and high schools and serve as advisers to the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) student organization. County Extension Educators deliver FACS education in informal settings through the Cooperative Extension Service.
