Circumplex Model and PREPARE/ENRICH: Bridging Research, Theory, and Practice
This webinar will provide family professionals with new insights and practical applications to incorporate into their work. David H. Olson, Ph.D. is widely recognized for his work with couples and families that bridges research, theory, and practice. His innovations enable professionals to better assess prevention and intervention methods for the families with whom they work. Dr. Olson will provide an overview of the highly respected Circumplex Model of Couples and Families, that he developed, demonstrating how cohesion and flexibility are assessed, and illustrating how the model can be used to describe a couple and family system. He will also give an overview of his PREPARE/ENRICH program which is designed to prepare couples for marriage and enrich marriage. Drawing from his body of work, Dr. Olson will detail couple exercises designed to build relationship awareness and skills, and how the Couple and Family Map (simplified Circumplex Model) can help couples better understand and build a stronger relationship.

About the Presenter
David H. Olson, Ph.D. is professor emeritus, University of Minnesota and Founder and former CEO of PREPARE/ENRICH. He is past president of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) and the Upper Midwest Association of Marital and Family Therapy (UMAMFT). He has received a variety of awards for his scholarly research, assessments, and innovative programs for couples and families from over 10 national associations. He developed the highly respected Circumplex Model of Couples and Families (also called the Couple and Family Map) and a variety of popular assessments for couples and families (PREPARE/ENRICH and FACES). He has written over 100 articles and 20 books on marriage and family including: Couple Checkup, Smart Stepfamily, Empowering Couples, Building Relationships, Power in Families and Treating Relationships. He has appeared numerous times on national television including the NBC Today Show, CBS Morning Show, ABC Good Morning America, and the Oprah Show.
