Call for Nominations: $1M Grant For Early-Career Researcher

The National Science Foundation (NSF) seeks nominations for 2018 for its highest honor: the Alan T. Waterman Award, named for the NSF's first director.

The outstanding early-career researcher (in any scientific field) who receives this award is given a medal and a $1 million grant over five years to conduct research at the recipient's institution of choice.

Candidates must be 40 years old or younger, or no more than 10 years past receiving their doctoral degree, by Dec. 31 of the nomination year. Candidates also must be United States citizens or permanent U.S. residents.

Nominate candidates by Oct. 23, 2017.
