The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program, within the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Chapman University, seeks applicants for a non-tenure track, Clinical Assistant Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy beginning in August 2023.

Qualifications

A master or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or closely related field, preferably from a COAMFTE accredited institution is required. Candidates must have a strong record of prior university teaching and be licensed as a marriage and family therapist in California. Candidates must also be actively involved in direct clinical services, possess program leadership potential, and demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates must be able to supervise MFT trainees in the state of California, possess the AAMFT Approved Supervisor Designation, or be an AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate or be willing to work towards achieving this designation. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

The faculty member will be expected to teach a wide range of graduate courses in the MFT program with a special emphasis on group/individual supervision taught in our on-site MFT training clinic – the Frances Smith Center, as well as in interdisciplinary collaborations in the community. The faculty member will be expected to teach 24 units per academic year. Because the position is non-tenure track, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to university/professional service and be involved in the MFT program’s re-accreditation efforts, but will not be expected to produce a consistent record of scholarship.
