POSITION: The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program Director holds a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position with compensated summer administrative responsibilities in the Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS), College of Health and Human Sciences, beginning Summer or Fall term 2023. The position is open at the associate or full professor level.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful MFT Program Director candidate will be instrumental in the continued quality of the COAMFTE-accredited doctoral program. The director is expected to contribute to the scholarly activity of the department, including the procurement of extramural funding, research, teaching, and service. Responsibilities include coordination of the HDFS graduate programs, reaccreditation, overseeing the management of the Center for Couple and Family Therapy and clinical staff, and representing the MFT program at the department, university, and national levels.

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Human Development and Family Science currently has 18 faculty, 442 undergraduate students, and 47 Masters/Ph.D. students. Our programs focus on child development, family processes, and relationship interventions. Specifically, our research, teaching, and service activities reflect our three program foci: Relational development and enhancement in children, young adults, couples, and families; distressed children and families and relational interventions; and the link between relationship (parent-child, peer, romantic) processes and relational and health outcomes. In addition to our undergraduate program offered in both traditional and online formats, we offer a master’s program and two doctoral degree programs, one in Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) and one in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have the following qualifications: earned doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field; credentials eligible for faculty appointment at the rank of associate or full professor; AAMFT membership and Approved Supervisor status; and a strong record of research, administration, teaching, and clinical training.
