Extension Specialist-Human Development and Family Studies
Lead statewide outreach initiatives in human development and family studies focusing on issues across the lifespan, including childcare, school readiness, relationships, aging, and substance use. Design, develop, and deliver research-based educational materials in all media to county extension educators for use with consumers, external educators, and local community partners. Serve as a resource for field staff. Work with state-level extension leaders to plan and deliver training for field staff, set programmatic priorities, and manage reporting responsibilities.
Required:
Master’s degree in Human Development, Psychology, Educational Psychology, or Sociology and/or equivalent
4 years Experience in extension and working with professionals in the community on issues relating to human development.
Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication, organizational skills, interpersonal and public relations.
A working knowledge of instructional and evaluation methods is necessary.
Must be sensitive to the needs of Indiana residents in both rural and urban settings.
